Welcome to the Silicon Valley Chinese Rotary Club

Rotary International Clubs are a network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who envision a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change in our community and across the globe.

Founded in 2015 by visionary community leaders, our club was established to recognize and support the vital role of Chinese-speaking young professionals in enriching the social fabric. These individuals bring fresh perspectives, dynamic energy, and meaningful contributions to the local community. As the first Mandarin-speaking club in the United States, we are proud to lead the way in fostering connections and cultural exchange

Under Jingming's leadership, our club has completed numerous impactful community projects, making this past year truly remarkable. As we welcome our new president, Annie He, we look forward to continued growth and the development of even more enriching initiatives that will benefit a broader audience. Exciting times are ahead for our club!

Five local clubs came together for a vibrant networking event, fostering connections and sharing insights about service projects, personal passions, and the motivations behind joining Rotary. It was an inspiring gathering that strengthened our network, deepened our shared purpose, and made for an enjoyable and productive experience!

Mr. Henry Yin and Mr. Richard Flanders chartered the club in 2014.  It is their vision to recognize and support the vital role of Chinese-speaking young professionals in enriching the social fabric. These individuals bring fresh perspectives, dynamic energy, and meaningful contributions to the local community. As the first Mandarin-speaking club in the United States, we are proud to lead the way in fostering connections and cultural exchange

In Feb 2021, as celebrating the lunar New Year, our club organized 300 boxes of Dim Sum lunch donation to Washington Hospital In Fremont to show our community support to health care workers to fight with COVID.

Women are active participants in Rotary, serving their communities in increasing numbers and serving in leadership positions in Rotary. The 1989 Council on Legislation vote to admit women into Rotary clubs worldwide remains a watershed moment in the history of Rotary.

“My fellow delegates, I would like to remind you that the world of 1989 is very different to the world of 1905. I sincerely believe that Rotary has to adapt itself to a changing world,” said Frank J. Devlyn, who would go on to become RI president in 2000-01.

The vote followed the decades-long efforts of men and women from all over the Rotary world to allow the admission of women into Rotary clubs, and several close votes at previous Council meetings.
